Obadiah

Obadiah, the shortest book in the Old Testament, pronounces God's judgment on Edom — the nation descended from Esau — for its arrogance and its violence against its brother Judah in the day of disaster. Secure in its rocky mountain strongholds, proud Edom asks, 'Who will bring me down?' But God will: 'the pride of your heart has deceived you.' Its themes ring far beyond Edom — the self-deceit of pride, the principle that 'as you have done, it will be done to you,' and the coming day of the LORD over all nations, when wrongs are set right and 'the kingdom will be the LORD's.' Obadiah warns that no fortress of human pride can stand against God, and assures that his kingdom will prevail.
