Old Testament
Genesis tells how God created a good world and made humanity in his image, how sin and death entered through the fall, and how, after judgment and mercy in the flood and the scattering at Babel, God began his plan of redemption by calling Abraham — promising land, offspring, and blessing to all nations — a covenant of faith carried through Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph, ending in Egypt with the hope of the promise and the assurance that God works even human evil for good.
