Old Testament
Exodus tells how Yahweh, the great "I AM," redeemed his covenant people out of slavery in Egypt by the blood of the Passover lamb and the parting of the sea, brought them to Sinai to be his kingdom of priests under the covenant and its law, and — despite their idolatry and his gracious forgiveness — came to dwell in their midst in the tabernacle as his glory filled it.
