Old Testament

Deuteronomy

Deuteronomy is Moses' covenant renewal on the edge of the promised land — calling a new generation to remember God's faithfulness, to love Yahweh with all their heart (the Shema), to obey his law from a circumcised heart, and to choose life and blessing over death and curse — pointing beyond Moses to the prophet to come, and giving words the New Testament weaves throughout, from Jesus' temptation to Paul's gospel.
